Strike Productions has arguably one of the best set and structure designers in this country, who will work closely with the client to create a visual masterpiece and bring an event to life, whether it's a simple or elaborate stage & set design or a complex exhibition stand - we have the expertise in-house.

Coming from an Art background, Lee Irving has worked in the Local Staging & Set industry since 1993.
Lee started his career in the USA designing and building sets, displays and ramps for the BMX freestyle industry in the late 1980's. Gaining extensive experience in design during this time, Lee changed his focus to the theatrical world in Orlando Florida.

Moving back to SA his home town, Lee started his new career with Art of Light now known as In2Structures/Gearhouse. Always eager to develop and grow as an individual, Lee then went from design to learning about woodwork and metal fabrication which naturally progressed him into structural sets. Lee then started designing the steel trussing and connectors which became the backbone of many of the dome structures now seen around SA and internationally. He was responsible for the design and manufacture of the Maxi/Midi/SP Domes.

Israel was a highlight in Lee's career where he worked for In2Structures/Gearhouse for a few months designing a quick staging system that would be easy to tour. There he also built 2 domes for the Ramat Aviv Conference centre, Tel Aviv.

Being privileged enough to meet Ray Winkler from Fisher Studios in the UK through the years. Ray saw so much more to Lee's potential and skills than just a simple design and build person and knowing he had the knowledge of stage carpentry and structural elements of sets he was afforded the chance to design, implement and oversee the manufacturing of many sets and structural elements on various international jobs and design both set and structural elements for many prestigious events around the world.

With extensive experience working around the world designing and manufacturing some of the best seen sets, Strike Productions and Strike Set & Stage is privileged to have Lee working as our head designer.
